Hello My Companion,
I have been meaning to sign your guest book many times. I always have too much to say so I never have gotten this far into the "Address Book process." This is my first attempt at any on line guest book.
In many ways I am a complete novice RE the internet.I had some (minimal) use from my previous work; since 1994-5 I have been using email.Last summer I unexpectedtly learned I would need to use "financial aid" for my son to attend college; this was totally unanticipated.
Since then,I have commited to and been learning about the internet (and computers). I am in the position where I know just enough to know how much I do not know. For example, I am on AOL (yes I know how bad it is ... another story) and I need to use netscape browser 4.0 or microsoft internet explorer 5.0 or +. I downloaded netscape--but the wrong one:6.2. I downloaded microsoft 5.0.I should be able to complete these government forms if I log on, minimize AOL, open up Internet Explorer, etc.,etc. It just seems like a big deal to me, yet one that is absolutely necessary for me to get resolved.
I could give you many examples of my slow progress learning my way around the net and would like you to know that you have always had some information that I have been able to actually access and learn from; and I sincerely am not an idiot. I am well educated, 48 year old divorced female, with one son--senior in high school, and have a dedicated and loyal pet named Dixie: 4 yr old Golden Retriever. I have spent the majority of my life as a "professional" (banking/finance); on Oct. 25 I became unemployed (fired-management change) for the first time in my life, I own my own home, my mom has alzheimer's disease and my siblings and I just placed her in a care facility.
All these areas and for a variety reasons presented me with the necessity resulting in using and learning to get around on the net. In addition, for example, I am trying to get the digital photo thing down (first goal was to take a picture of each one of my son's ceramic pieces before he started selling them; I was partially successful--he does the ceramics / pottery thing mostly at night & on the weekends--ie it is not an area he's "studying" anyway, his work impresses his mom!)
I've successfully found information and educated myself about my mom's illness as well as learned how to use and post on message boards. I have been in quality chat rooms and just the opposite.
Again, you seem to have always been there before me and have the ability to perfectly articulate the experience and the why's and how's behind what your saying; for example the unsuccessful chat rooms...you know!
It is exciting that I have gained as much knowledge and understanding over the past 6 months, and have consistently been able to "relate" to your site; yet, there are so many more "categories" that I haven't even touched that I admit I am counting on you being there for me as a support resource while I continue to learn.
I also am dedicated to you because of your value system and ethics; your honesty is greatly appreciated. I know I have saved a lot of time because of you sharing your experiences so very honestly. (For example, being recently unemployed and wanting to learn about the internet...I admit it, I was tempted to try signing up for all those sites that claimed they'd pay if I read...well, you know about all that too).
I don't want you to get the idea that I just blindly follow whatever you say. One example would be that I was tempted to get rid of all those banners & ads. Although it is a tempting idea to "delete" the ads, my thought process is that for some reason it's a good idea to basically "see" the ads; perhaps to know what's going on in the overall market,or maybe a better word is to get a "feel". Maybe these ads could somehow reflect the economic situation, or if a name changed would that mirror a business structure (merger) type of change? I know that I'm not describing what I am trying to express very well. But, I do figure that I'll eventually realize that I don't need the imposing and distracting ads to give me the info. or "feel" of overall things. I'll eventually learn that there's a web page or something that is more efficient in enabling me to obtain the information I want! I'll let you know when I understand and make the decision to wipe out the ads!
Anyway, I have learned so much from your site and truly appreciate that you offer useful, easily understood information for the novice up to the expert. Also, I truly appreciate your personalized approach; you have a dedicated user and fan.
I am going to continue on to hopefully successfully complete signing in your guest book.
I hope you had a good Christmas and I am very happy that Claudia has improved. Well, here goes...Yours very truly, Joann Dalton

Hello. I was just checking the articles you offer for reprint and I think the "mailto" option is a great idea but I also think you should include one box that when checked will also check all the boxes.
I mean suppose someone wanted to read all your articles?
As many as are listed on that page it would take time to check them all, correct?
Just a suggestion. :0) Nicely done website btw.

I am most impressed by the site, such a lot of information. Black and red is a bit gloomy, though.
However, the quantity of tips and wheezes is abso;utely phenominal, as all your visitors tell you.
Would like critiques of my two sites:

How come I can't open my Start Page, when I do all I get is a message saying "can't find". It's been off since Saturday December 8 2001, and when I went back on Sunday December 9 2001 it was still off line. I'm with Excite Canada, Why is this happening. Have they gone bankrupt without telling anyone about it, cause they were online on Friday December 7 2001.
Thanks =8^(
P.S. Alot of Canadian Start Pages have gone bankrupt.

Great site! It's obvious you put a lot of thought (and work) into maintaining it. I'm a real novice in the site building arena and truly appreciate sites like yours. I've submitted the one I built for our homeowners association. And while I also put a great deal of effort into building it (and now maintaining it), it doesn't hold a candle to yours. Keep up the great work.
